Ocean freight is about to hit a new high. From August, the price of each box will be increased by 5,000 US dollars, and the price of one box will reach 20,000 US dollars.

Starting from August 1, airlines such as Matsun, Hapag-Lloyd, and Zim will charge high port congestion fees!

Recently, Hapag-Lloyd announced that due to the continued extraordinary demand from China and the resulting supply chain operational challenges, Hapag-Lloyd will implement a value-added surcharge (VAD) on all cargo transportation in accordance with the regular FAK guidelines.

This surcharge will not affect any medium-term or long-term contracts and is intended to replace some other temporary surcharges such as SGF (shipment guarantee fee).

The VAD surcharge will take effect on August 15, 2021 and will be paid on collection at destinations in the United States and Canada. The amounts are as follows:

China to North America (United States and Canada)

All 20′ container types $4,000

All 40′ container types $5,000

In the current ocean shipping market, there is no highest freight rate, only higher rates. Hurry up if you want to ship…
